Initial appointments usually take 60 - 75 minutes to complete the required paperwork and adequately unpack the bulk of your presenting issue (what you’ve come to therapy for).
Subsequent sessions are typically 60 minutes with an additional 15 minute buffer in case we need more time. This is just a guide, as it can be normal for some sessions to finish early (45-50 minutes) depending on the client and/or practitioner.
Our counsellors work with a client centered focus, and so if you have a particular request, don’t hesitate to ask!

Our fees range from $140 - $160 for a 60 minute session, depending on the counsellor and their relevant experience.
The client may receive an additional invoice if the agreed upon time has been exceeded and it is the counsellors responsibility to inform you of this in session.
Our fees and rates are comparable to other industry standard professionals with similar experience and training across Australia.
We believe in accessibility and affordability of therapy and counselling services in Australia and recognise that high session fees can deter some people from seeking support. As such, we do offer subsidised and sliding scale options. Ask our team about this option during your discovery call.
Strong Space will preference Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander folk as well as other marginalised communities when subsidised sessions are requested.

Strong Space Counselling accepts the following forms of payment:
Direct Debit / Bank Transfer
Visa and Mastercard (via MediPass)
NDIS Self Managed Clients (via invoice)
Different practitioners will have different payment methods depending on their own preferences. However, it is our recommendation that invoices will be issued, and required to be paid, on the day of your session.
Failure to pay the invoice on the day of your session will result in reminder emails, texts and possibly future appointments being cancelled.
Scheduled appointments must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance otherwise the full session fee will be charged.
Appointments cancelled prior to 24 hours can be used as credit (if prepaid) for a future appointment or will be refunded.
We are currently confirming eligible private health insurance funds. Please let your counsellor know if you have private health insurance.
Strong Space is not able to accept Mental Health Care Plan’s from your doctor, however we can support you throughout the challenging process of finding a provider that is available and affordable.
